WAY PARK: Hospital Memorial Garden Dedication

A Park for All Seasons

Way Park is the heart of a vibrant neighborhood on the west side of Northfield. It features: a musical playground; playground equipment and swings; pre-school equipment; a basketball court; picnic and grilling areas; a walking path; a warming hut and ice rink (seasonal); a small baseball/kickball diamond (seasonal); a large open field perfect for pick up soccer games and kite flying; and lovely rain gardens. Our organization, The Friends of Way Park hosts several events every year including Yoga in the Park, Pumpkin Fest, and a spring picnic event.

Hospital Memorial Garden Dedication

The hospital memorial garden is complete! Join us June 1st to dedicate the garden! We will gather to celebrate the completion of the hospital memorial garden and thank our donors and volunteers. Light refreshments will be served.

The Friends of Way Park will hold our annual meeting at this time and will be available to community members who would like to talk about the park!

Friends of Way Park (FWP) is a group of neighbors in Northfield, Minnesota, working together on issues related to the restoration and care of this historic parkland.

Our Mission
The mission of Friends of Way Park is to honor the Way family gift of 1933 by preserving this community parkland for present and future generations.

Our Purpose

To support, advise, and cooperate with the City of Northfield in the planning, development, programming, beautification, and maintenance of Way Park
To encourage the use of Way Park by the entire Northfield community
To memorialize the 1939 Northfield hospital that previously occupied the south part of the park
To encourage and receive gifts and bequests in support of the purposes previously noted
